    I already install the mysql server but when i type mysql in the terminal.I get an error 1045:Access denied for user.

    How can i solve this problem???

  4. Those of you having ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'(using password: NO)

    Go ahead and type the following on the terminal:

    mysql -u root -p

    Then when prompted to enter password type your root password.

    If all goes well you will see the following message (or of similar nature):

    Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or g.
    Your MySQL connection id is 7
    Server version: 5.7.24-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 (Ubuntu)

    Copyright (c) 2000, 2018, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.

  6. The prompt to set my password didn't appear 🙁 when I run:
    sudo apt-get install mysql-server
    does anyone know why? I tried several of times with no success.

    after the command `sudo apt-get install mysql-server` it didn't asked me to set any password. then on typing mysql i got the following error : `ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'user_name'@'localhost' (using password: NO)`
